I tried to upload a picture for my story but the system keeps telling me something about size

There is a limit to the size of images allowed for articles. Currently we accept up to 1Mb and jpg files of no more than 72 dots per inch (dpi). If you need to resize your image to meet our requirement, there are several free online services available. For instance:

http://www.resize2mail.com/

http://online-image-resize.kategorie.cz/

These services are independent of us. We have no connection to them in any way.

Always make sure that you get close to the subject you are photographing and take more than one good shot.

I tried to upload a video for my story but the system keeps telling me something about size.

There is a limit to the size of video allowed for articles. Currently we accept up to 5mb. Video footage needs to be supplied, either as a generic MP4 file, WMV (Windows Media Video) file, QuickTime file or Flash file.

I was writing an article which I then submitted but got an error and was logged out.

If you got kicked back to the login screen after you entered an article, then one of two things happened:

  1. You took too long entering your article and your session timed out. NEVER type your article directly into the box provided, type it in another program (i.e. Word, NotePad, etc) and then copy and paste it into the form. This will keep internet glitches from causing you to lose your article. Plus, if you take too long entering your information into the form, the connection could time out and log you out of our system.

  2. A common reason for being sent to this screen after you entered an article is that most likely your Web browser security settings are set too high and are not allowing our site to create a session variable. Lower your security settings to allow cookies/session variables and resubmit the article. Or disable any security program that would be blocking our system from setting a session variable.
