Weaves; it seems almost every other girl out there has one these days. All you have to do is walk down your local high street, and you will see tons of girls rocking different styles, colours and textures; some of them look great, whereas others are a bit dodgy. Multi-coloured hair is never a good look! I repeat multi-coloured hair is NEVER a good look! So why do so many people want to 'diss' the girls that choose to fake it?
Ask any man, and he will almost certainly tell you that he prefers girls that wear their natural hair, preferably long and lustrous natural hair. These men need to be told that not all women (particuarly black women) are capable of growing their hair long. While claiming they love natural hair, these men are at the same time lusting after women like Beyonce and Tyra Banks who wear, surprise, surprise WEAVES!
The notion that for a woman to be beautiful, she must have long hair is rubbish. It is upsetting that we are still viewing European features as some sort of beauty ideal. It needs to be recognised that black women are beautiful with short hair, long hair, natural hair or synthetic hair! The good thing about weaves is that they allow you to switch it up; they give you versatility. You could rock long, wavy, red hair one day, and short, punky, purple hair the next! It's your prerogative! In fact, weaves are so versatile that even white girls are catching on to the craze. While at a salon yesterday, a white girl came in asking for "pink sew-in hair."
So go on ladies, rock your weaves and keep on faking it! You look great! Well...some of you do. Multi-coloured hair needs to stop!
Yes, extensions are great
Getting extensions is a great way to get more hair for that special night out or until your natural hair grows out as long as you'd like. To many weaves though start to look like a wig so extend the hair you need to and not your whole head of hair.
