Farewell to two...It's rather ironic that two senior top cops depart on the same day don't you think?

One Inspector Gina Gould, actress Roberta Taylor quit the popular ITV soap The Bill after a long standing career as the bossy but emotional Gould at Britain's well known fictional cop station Sunhill.

And as everyone knows, Britain's real top cop Met chief Sir Ian Blair quit today after allegedly being pushed out by Tory Mayor Boris Johnson.

Although Gould wasn't forced out by alleged politics of the job, she said she was leaving because she feared everytime her officers went out on the beat and wouldn't return safely to the nick - and who can blame her?

I wonder if The Bill will run a storyline on the current war raging between cops and politicians?

Any views on who would play mumbling Tory Mayor Johnson?
