[/caption] Some Search Engine Optimisation Tips for Beginners... ANYBODY who has ever been involved in setting up a website will tell you how difficult it is to get ranked quickly in GOOGLE. A lot of people pay a website designer thousands of dollars to have a flashy, and graphic focused website, but only one problem! It doesn't bring in sales or traffic! Now, if you are thinking that doing on page optimisation for your website is like extracting blood from a stone, you are wrong. On page SEO is actually more simple than it appears, unless you follow these guidelines. 1) KEYWORDS When you do on page SEO, you need to make sure that your keyword is in the domain name. Now, this is mandatory if your website is selling physical products, eg, clothes, etc. To find a keyword related to your niche, you need to do keyword research. Lsi keyword tool is good, or you can use the FREE GOOGLE tool for this. 2) KEYWORD DENSITY You should not litter your page with your keyword too much. In fact, you should use your keyword within 2 - 4% of your content when it comes to on page SEO. 3) SEO AND TITLES Your titles must have the keyword in it. If possible, try to wedge in your keyword in every subheading you use as well, provided they are not too many. Specifically, use your keyword in all the H1, H2 and H3 tags that you use. Or try to! Don't SPAM! 4) YOUR KEYWORD MUST FEATURE IN FIRST AND LAST SENTENCE OF YOUR ARTICLE Simple enough? 5) SEO AND LINKS Now, when you are linking, you must link to outbound links that are trusted. For example, if you are trying to get backlinks, it would be better to get 10 back links, rather than 100 that are from untrusted sites, or ones that have no relevance whatsoever to your niche. 6) CONTENT Google loves fresh content that can help people. Generally, your content needs to be 500 words or more, rich in keywords/keyword, and have these crucial factors. Now, it is not possible to think of everything but if you do 90% of these things you will get good SEO ranking from GOOGLE. I did. I ranked on page one for the keyword "SMS Marketing Benefits at Number Six and am ranked Number one on page one for the keyword "Mobile Biz Opportunity and I did it just by employing some of these factors in just one blog post! The myth peddled by the so called "gurus" out there is that getting on page one of google is impossible. Well, it's certainly hard work, but anything is possible, if you search around for the right content and advice and, more importantly, DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFOREHAND! You also need to remember that you will not get ranked for the most popular keywords on Google. For example, if you are in the dating niche, you will not get onto page one for a top keyword such as dating, or "internet dating." What you need to do is rank for a keyword that is less competitive, but still brings in traffic. This is where the KEYWORD RESEARCH TOOLS COME IN... These are some Search Engine Optimisation Tips for Beginners that will help your website get higher rankings.
