Journo blogger and leukaemia campaigner Adrian Sudbury has lost his battle with cancer. He died peacefully yesterday - with tributes pouring into his award winning Baldy's Blog and local newspaper's website tribute page.
The Huddersfield Examiner journalist had a hectic few weeks before passing away as he had instigated a high profile campaign to get 16-18 year olds to have compulsory education for bone marrow donation.
Sudbury, who was 26, had even been paid tribute by British prime minister Gordon Brown who had accepted his petition he had taken to Downing Street a few weeks ago.
His Baldy's Blog, which he used as a springboard for campaigning has received an army of followers, with people worldwide sending him messages of sympathy.
He had contracted a rare form of the disease, and was diagnosed last year.
The cancer had gone away - but then tragically returned in January of this year.
On Baldy's blog, his father Keith Sudbury, issued a statement through a friend, which said: "Adrian died peacefully in his sleep. Every parent thinks their son or daughter is special and we are no different."
He added: "Adrian touched all who knew him. We're very proud of all his achievements in, tragically, such a short time."
On the Huddersfield Daily Examiner's website, the paper have launched a tribute page, where people can leave their messages for the former brave blogger.
One wrote: "What a very sad day!! Feels like I have lost a friend, we knew this day was coming but it didn't make it any easier. A true star on earth who shared the ups & down's of his terrible illness with strangers who now call themselves Adrian's Army!! My heartfelt condolenses go out to his family & friends, he will be sorely missed.
He is now a star in heaven Im sure & the place will be brighter up there even if it's darker down here. He touched so many people's hearts & his campaign will live on through Adrian's Army!! Rest in Peace Adrian- u deserve to."
