It was recently announced that the co-author of the best selling book “100 Things to Do Before You Die” has died aged 47 having achieved almost half the items on the list.

Dave Freeman died last week after falling in his home in California leaving him with a serious head injury, his father Roy Freeman announced today.

In his book he writes: “This life is a short Journey, how can you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on earth before you pack those bags for the very last time?”

According to his relatives Freeman visited about half the places on his list before he died, and either he or co-author Teplica had been to nearly all of them.

The book's recommendations ranged from the obvious - attending the Academy Awards ceremony and running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain - to the more daring - taking a voodoo pilgrimage in Haiti and "land diving" on the Island of Vanuatu, which Freeman once called "the original bungee jumping."

Teplica said: "He didn't have enough days, but he lived them like he should have."

Dave Freeman’s life proves that he practiced what he preached and lived every day to its fullest. His life is an example to us all, do not let every day slip by, but live every single one like it was your last.

The success of the book inspired dozens of similar tomes, with titles such as "100 Things Project Managers Should Do Before They Die" and "100 Things Cowboys Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die."

And with many more editions such as these being constantly released, truly the authors legacy will continue to live on, and his book will continue to inspire spontaneity in people’s lives.
