Opera fans gather every year on the beautiful Temple Newsam estate in Leeds for the free summertime Opera in the Park spectacular. There's a pop party in the park the following day.

For 2009 the Hallé from Manchester and the Leeds Festival Chorus are joined by tenor Alfie Boe and soprano Natasha Marsh (the voice of ITV's Euro 2008 coverage). With a capacity for 50,000 music fans it is always a spectacular and popular night.

Free tickets - four per person - are first available from 10am on the second Saturday of June at Leeds' Millennium Square and thereafter from local libraries, Leeds Visitor Centre and the Carriageworks Box Office. Please check with ticket outlets for programme times.

*Event details can change. Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
