The streets here are covered with them. People parade around with tens and hundreds of them on their bags, coats, and hats. Even CTV in Robson Square has a designated area for people to meet and - trade badges (in North America we call them pins).

Every Olympic event has produced a plethora of different types of pins, some worth more than others. Professional pin traders set up shop on the streets and anxious tourists swarm around the tiny pieces of metal.

The pins people are looking for aren't necessarily official pins from the International Olympic Committee. Some pin traders want something different - media, law enforcement, non-generic or security pins - and will trade current pins they have for them.

People trade pins and connect with people from around the world. Some people, such as the two men I interviewed on Granville Street, do it for a living. Watch my video to see the roaring trade in pins. Excuse poor picture and audio quality.
