The Tampere Jazz Happening, one of Finland's finest jazz festivals, presents an eclectic line-up primarily made up of modern jazz performers at the Old Customs House.

Since 1982, the festival has staged some memorable performances by a host of versatile contemporary jazz greats: John Scofield, Evan Parker and Ornette Coleman included.

Highlights in 2008 include the Platypus Ensemble & Proton String Quartet, the Michel Portal Quartet and the Omar Sosa Afreecanos Quartet from Cuba.
