Death toll mystery of 7/7

How many people died as a result of the July 7 terrorist attacks in central London? The official total is 52, which excludes the four suicide bombers. But, when this figure was first made public by Britain's Iraq war ally John Howard, the prime minister of Australia, we were told that at least 20 more bodies were trapped in a train carriage under Kings Cross station which rescuers were struggling to reach. So, unless the emergency services had got it all wrong, the final tragic tally should have been more than 70 dead.
