Brazilian President Luiz Inacio "Lula" de Silva's outspoken attack on the fatcat West is a foretaste of what he says will make the G20 economic summit he is attending in London this weekend "a spicy event".
Thousands of anti-capitalist protesters plan to make their voices heard too when world leaders, including American President Barack Obama, gather for what one influential ex-Fleet Street editor has mocked as a festival of hot air.
Lula said that the financial crisis was not caused by any "Black person" or "poor person" and called on Western nations to pay the costs of solving the meltdown.
"This was a crisis fostered and boosted by the irrational behaviour of people that are white and blue eyed," he said. "Before the crisis it looked like they knew everything about economics. And now they have demonstrated they don't know anything about economics."
He added: "These were people who appeared to be gods of wisdom."
Lula said that Brazil and other countries were being unfairly penalised with the poor bearing the brunt of the global recession.
Many media outlets have been publishing various lists and maps of G20 protest events,
Here The-Latest publishes a more accurate digest of confirmed events and initiatives so far from various groups and coalitions.
