Premiership Kings hold rivals to draw

Premiership Kings Chelsea dashed Barcelona's hopes of automatic qualification yesterday. Jose Mourihno's boys in blue battled hard to hold the Spanish champions 2 - 2 at the Nou camp. A stunned Chelsea were playing catch up three mins into the match as an in form player Deco launced a superb strike from 25 yards. Barcelona managed to play periods of stunning football in the first half as Chelsea were unable to penetrate the Barce defence. The Italian referee bombarded both teams with yellow cards which led to misconfusion as to who had actually received one, ( or two) as the case maybe for Ashley Cole. Spanish TV misrepresented a yellow card for Ashley Cole, as it was Cole's teammate Frank Lampard who was meant to have received it, not Cole. In the Second Half, Chelsea found some form and a delightful strike from Frank Lampard meant the boys in blue were even stevens. But Barcelona fought back with some penetrating runs down the flanks from Ronaldino, who found the feet of Eidur Gudjohnson, putting Barce in the front seat again. Gudjohnson had come into some crticism from his former employers Chelsea, as his manager alleges that Barcelona had taught the former Chelsea recruit 'how to dive.' Dying minutes into the end, Drogba unleashed an equaliser to help Chelsea stay on top of the group with Barce lagging in third place. Bremen lie in second place as Barcelona need a win in their next match to ensure safe passage through to the knockout stages of the competition.
